There is an ecstatic beauty in the instrumental music of the band Explosions In The Sky. I had been recommended their music for some time by various friends but didn’t start listening intently until the last couple of days. Truly well done instrumental music conveys a different power than music with a vocal center. The challenge and beauty of instrumental rock in the vein of EITS is that it is a blank canvas that the listener is forced to focus on and fill with meaning. The above song is “The Only Moment We Were Alone” from the album “The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place.”
